To wear Ozed sunglasses is primarily a choice of values: pleasure, humanity, respect and protection of the environment. That’s what drives Baptiste and Matthieu, the two creators of this company based in Hossegor.

In a market where there was never much room for innovation, Ozed stands out and surprises since summer 2012 by creating a line of  wooden sunglasses, classy, refined, using quality materials. These sunglasses are made of wood from managed forests such as the bamboo of Indonesia, the ebony of Burkina Faso or the rosewood of Malaysia. All the lenses are polarized in three categories which cancels all glare refections without exception.



Buying a pair of Ozed sunglasses, that’s doing something for the planet. Ozed contributes to reforestration through “Pur Projet”. For each pair bought, a tree is replanted in Haiti, in Indonesia, or in Brazil.  But for Ozed, it’s not just a means of  up-to-date communication: when you buy a pair of Ozed sunglasses, a certificate is provided to you with the information about “your” replanted tree. So you know in which forest you can find your tree (using GPS coordinates), what is its variety, who is the farmer who takes care of it, and its health. And if your tree died, it would be automatically replaced.

To promote their brand, leaders of Ozed created the “Ozed Family“. The principle is quite simple and really effective: “You are a passionate artist who shares the values promoted by Ozed? So let’s share this passion and create a limited series in your effigy “. Since a year the “Ozed Family” counts as members: the Shoes, Coline Ménard (pro surfer), Victor de le Rue (one of the best French snowboarders), Nelio (street artist Lyon) and Mr. Oxmo Puccino!

That little extra: Baptiste and Matthieu will not stop there. The next innovations include launching of eyeglasses line, developing their own technique for polarizing lenses and creating a series based on the recycled skateboard in partnership with Antiz. The “Ozed Family” continues to grow…
